The Best Disney Cruise Line Destinations

| , ,

Think Disney cruises only go to the Bahamas? Think again. From Alaska to Australia, Disney Cruise Line offers cruises where you can experience amazing destinations all over the world, while enjoying immersive experiences with your favorite Disney characters and stories onboard—all with the unparalleled service and attention to detail Disney is known for. With cruises departing from many popular Florida ports, Galveston, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, and New York City, getting to your cruise port is convenient and easy. Where are the best places to travel on your next Disney cruise? Below, we share our top Disney Cruise Line destinations you can travel to when you book a Disney cruise. Whether you dream of glacier viewing in the north or relaxing on a private island, Disney Cruise Line has an itinerary for you!

Alaska

It’s a cruise that should be on any avid cruiser’s bucket list! Alaskan cruises cater to both sightseers and adventure seekers through spectacular excursions, inspiring historical sites, and breathtaking scenery. Experience once-in-a-lifetime activities like glacier viewing, whale watching, hiking, fishing, village tours, and sled dog rides. You may even get the chance to see the Aurora Borealis. Disney cruises to Alaska set sail aboard the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic out of Vancouver, Canada, for five to seven-night cruises along Alaska’s Inside Passage. Ports of call include Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan, where you can experience a wealth of activities, such as:

  • Glacier viewing at the Stikine Ice Cap.
  • Wildlife watching at Icy Strait Point.
  • Native Alaskan cultural experiences.
  • Lessons about the Alaskan Gold Rush.
  • Salmon bakes in historic fishing villages.
  • Play under the “midnight sun.”

While onboard, you can enjoy Disney experiences specifically catered to your cruise destination, including special meet and greets with Mickey and pals in snow gear and deck parties with Frozen friends and ice themes.

Disney Private Island Destinations

Many Disney cruises leaving out of Florida stop at one of Disney’s private island destinations in the Bahamas—some cruises stop at both! These island experiences are exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests and are completely owned and operated by Disney, so you can experience the same service, entertainment, and amenities at port as you do on board. Many island amenities are included with your cruise fare, such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, towels, lounge chairs, and beach umbrellas. You can also make room charge purchases with your Key to the World card. You can also take advantage of exclusive island experiences like meet and greets with Disney characters on the beach, kids’ clubs, and entertainment. Here’s an overview of each island location:

Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay, Disney’s first private island escape, offers a variety of activities for a day filled with surf, sun, and fun. Thrill-seekers can try parasailing, snorkeling, jet skiing, or glass-bottom boat excursions. Achieve a running milestone and participate in the island’s exclusive 5K. The island has plenty for families to enjoy together, including a large family beach (with fantastic views of your cruise ship), two floating waterslides, a splash pad, and an excavation-themed play area. There are also teen hangout spots and a dedicated drop-off kids’ club similar to the Oceaneer Cub on board the ship.

Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Lookout Cay, Disney’s newest private island destination, opened in 2024 on the southern tip of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. This island destination infuses local culture, architecture, and entertainment to showcase The Bahamas’ vibrant culture. Spend your days by the sand and water at the family beach, or watch an impromptu Junkanoo celebration unfold before your eyes. You can also learn more about local culture and customs at the Goombay Cultural Center. Take the scenic route with a nature walk to the island’s lighthouse (make sure you bring your walking shoes). For a more private experience, add on a private cabana rental for the day. There is also an adults-only beach and a kids’ club on the island, as well.

Mediterranean Sea

See some of Europe’s most famous landmarks with a touch of Disney magic! Set sail aboard the Disney Dream (and—starting in 2027—the Disney Wish) for 7- to 12-night sailings that depart from Barcelona, Spain, Southampton, England, and Civitavecchia (Rome). Itineraries take you on a grand tour of Europe’s most iconic locations, from the Spanish Riviera to Naples, Italy. Explore locations in Spain, such as Vigo, Cartagena, and La Coruña; Greek islands like Mykonos and Santorini; and Corsica, a French island. Italian itineraries allow you to visit its finest cities like Pisa, Florence, Rome, and Pompeii. Explore these destinations further by adding an Adventures by Disney Escape, a shortened two- or three-day land adventure to specific destinations. These escapes are perfect to add on before or after your cruise!

Singapore

Beginning in March 2026, experience sailings aboard Disney’s newest cruise ship, the Disney Adventure, which will set sail exclusively out of Singapore. Designed as a destination at sea, the ship departs for three-and four-night cruises that sail through the South China Sea and return to Singapore. The ship features seven distinct lands with their own theming, attractions, and experiences, similar to what you’d encounter at one of Disney’s world-class theme parks. Imagination Garden is a central hub for live entertainment, dance parties, and stage performances on board. On the top decks, Marvel Landing includes three unique attractions, including Ironcycle Test Run, Disney’s first-ever roller coaster at sea. Toy Story Place is a kid-friendly amusement area with a family pool, Woody and Jessie-themed water slides, and —of course—a Pizza Planet. There’s also a Moana-themed outdoor play area. The ship infuses Asian culture and cuisine throughout its offerings, catering specifically to guests in Southeast Asia.

Southern Caribbean

When you want a cruise filled with stunning sunsets, tranquil waters, ocean breezes, and vibrant tropical greenery, consider a Southern Caribbean cruise. These itineraries are typically between seven and ten days long, departing from Port Canaveral or Puerto Rico on the Disney Fantasy or the Disney Dream. Southern Caribbean itineraries explore off-the-beaten-path locations in some of the world’s most gorgeous and picturesque destinations, such as:

  • Basseterre, St. Kitts
  • Bridgetown, Barbados
  • Castries, St. Lucia
  • Fort-de-France, Martinique
  • Oranjestad, Aruba
  • Kralendijk, Bonaire
  • Willemstad, Curaçao
  • St. John’s, Antigua
  • Tortola, British Virgin Islands
  • San Juan, PR
  • Roseau, Dominica
  • Philipsburg, St. Maarten
