The Disney Treasure, the sixth ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet, will have its maiden voyage on December 21st! As Disney Wish’s sister ship, the Treasure is a treasure trove of exciting experiences that celebrates the adventurous spirit of Disney characters from films like Moana, Aladdin, The Lion King, and more! The Disney Treasure will embark on seven-night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean out of Port Canaveral (only slightly over an hour from Walt Disney World)! Here’s what we’re looking forward to experiencing on the Disney Treasure:
Theming
The spirit of adventure can be found throughout the ship, from the Grand Hall, inspired by the Asian and African influences from the Kingdom of Agrabah (including a life-size statue of Aladdin and Jasmine enjoying their magic carpet ride) to The Lion King-themed entertainment center, Sarabi. Even the ship’s horn blasts seven iconic Disney songs of adventure, including “A Whole New World,” “Remember Me,” “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” “How Far I’ll Go,” and—of course—“When You Wish Upon a Star.” Check out the horn melody here.
Rotational Dining
One of Disney Cruise Line’s unique features is rotational dining. Unlike other cruise lines where you eat in the same dining room every night of your cruise, each Disney cruise ship offers three immersive and entertaining experiences you rotate through each night. Your serving staff also rotates with you, so your servers can get to know you and your preferences throughout your cruise. On the first day of your cruise, you’ll receive a dining itinerary telling you which dining location you’ll experience each night. Here are the rotational dining locations on the Disney Treasure:
Plaza de Coco
This dinner-theater dining experience brings you on a musical adventure with Miguel and the Rivera family (both living and dead). On the first night, sing along with Miguel and an authentic Mariachi band while enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. On the second night, the space transforms into a Día de los Muertos celebration, where you’ll meet Mama Coco, Hector, Mama Imelda, and Miguel’s other relatives in the Land of the Dead.
1923
Revel in the Golden Age of Hollywood at this Gilded Age eatery. Named after the year Walt Disney Studios opened its doors, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful sketches and artist renderings of Disney films while you dine. The restaurant offers Californian-inspried cuisine.
Worlds of Marvel
Calling all superheroes! Explore the technological advances and greet your favorite Marvel characters at this interactive dining experience. The first night will feature a toe-tapping adventure with Groot and other friends from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise while you groove along with the Star Lord’s mix tapes as you dine. On the second night, you’ll dine with Spider-Man at Avengers: Quantum Encounter.
Additional Dining
Two primary buffets are on board: Marceline Market and Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods. Marceline Market offers an all-day buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mickey & Friends Festival of Food includes themed food stations, allowing you to sample cuisine from around the world—along with many of your favorite dishes like BBQ, pizza, burgers, and more.
Bars, Lounges, and Snacks
All food and most non-alcoholic drinks are included with your cruise fare, and there are plenty of places to fuel up on the Disney Treasure. For the first time on a Disney cruise ship, the Treasure will feature lounges inspired by attractions at the Disney Parks. The Haunted Mansion Parlor beckons you to join the Grim Grinning Ghosts as they come out to socialize. The parlor will also feature some nautical twists on the classic attraction. The Periscope Pub will place you aboard a submarine as you explore 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (one of Walt Disney World’s opening attractions). Skipper Society offers “punny” cocktails and snacks based on the adventures of the Skippers from the World-Famous Jungle Cruise. The lounge will feature subtle references to the attraction, so you can enjoy trying to find them all while sipping a craft cocktail. There will also be an Aristocats-themed jazz lounge.
Several coffee shops and snack places are on board, including Jumbeaux Sweets, a Zootopia-themed dessert and sweets shop offering larger-than-life treats, and Moana and Mulan-themed coffee and tea kiosks.
Staterooms
Disney Cruise Line is known for offering spacious accommodations in its staterooms. Like the Disney Wish, the Treasure has over 1,200 staterooms and can carry up to 4,000 passengers. The ship will include the most outside rooms on any Disney cruise ship. Many of the ship’s rooms offer verandahs, outside windows, and balconies. You can choose from staterooms and suites inspired by The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Aladdin. The ship’s crowning jewel for an exquisite stay is the Tomorrow Tower Suite, located inside the ship’s forward funnel. This two-story, townhouse-style suite can sleep up to eight guests and includes two bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, a spiral staircase, and a Belle-worthy library.
Entertainment
The Disney Treasure will host the first-ever stage production of Moana. The show will feature several new elements, like the traditional Haka song “Warrior Face” and larger-than-life puppets like Te Ka, the largest puppet ever built for DCL. There will also be live renditions of Beauty and the Beast and Disney Seas the Adventure stage show. Sarabi, a secondary theater near the Grand Hall, is the central hub for daytime, family-friendly entertainment. There is also a variety of deck parties and shows throughout your trip. Don’t miss the Pirate Night deck party, which concludes with a dazzling fireworks display at sea.
Attractions and Recreation
Here are some of the attractions you can expect on board the Disney Treasure:
AquaMouse
Part roller coaster, part waterslide, this Disney Cruise Line exclusive attraction will feature a brand new storyline on the Disney Treasure. AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg will allow guests to go on an epic quest with Minnie and Mickey as they explore a hidden temple. The ride will propel guests through transparent tubes high above the ship’s upper decks.
Hero Zone
This Incredibles-themed recreation area features a basketball court, an inflatable obstacle course, ping pong tables, air hockey, shuffleboard, and more.
Splash Zones and Pools
Kids will love splashing around in a Toy Story-themed splash pad designed for toddlers and preschoolers. There are also ten pools and whirlpools onboard!
Wonderland Cinema
Watch first-fun Disney movies and classic tales in this Alice in Wonderland-inspired theater.
Kid Areas
The Oceaneeer Club is Disney Cruise Line’s exclusive kid-only play area for children ages 3 through 12. This drop-off program allows littles to be supervised by well-trained and vetted staff while you enjoy the features and amenities on board. The Treasure’s Oceaneer Club is modeled after the Disney Wish. It includes The Marvel Superhero Academy, Fairytale Hall, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, The Imagineering Lab, and an “It’s a Small World” themed nursery (additional rates apply for babysitting services). There are also two spaces just for tweens and teens, Edge and Vibe. Littles can enjoy a special appearance by Captain Minnie on the upper decks of Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck.
Adult Spaces
When you want to get away and relax without the kids, drop them off to have the time of their lives at the Oceaneer Club and enjoy any of these adult spaces:
- Quiet Cove—an adult-only area with an infinity pool, a lounge, and a bar
- Senses Spa
- Untangled Salon
- Hook’s Barbery
- Adult-only dining locations: Enchanté, The Rose, and Palo Steakhouse
- A wide range of bars and lounges
