7 Best Character Breakfasts at Walt Disney World

|

Character breakfasts are a fun way to meet many characters at once while enjoying a delicious meal. Instead of standing in line to meet your favorite characters at the parks, they come right to your table to sign autographs and take pictures. There are dozens of character meals available at Walt Disney World inside the four theme parks and at various resorts around the WDW property. Here’s our list of the top character breakfasts at Walt Disney World in 2024.

7. Cape May Cafe —Disney’s Beach Club Resort

This character breakfast is a hidden gem at the Beach Club side of Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. Join Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy as they prepare for a day at the beach at Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast. The characters are decked out in retro beachwear while you dine on a traditional American breakfast buffet. This small restaurant allows the characters to spend plenty of time with you, and reservations are easier to get than other character breakfasts. The breakfast menu features breakfast buffet staples like Mickey waffles, egg dishes, pancakes, french toast, and an omelet and carving station. Don’t forget to try their famous salted caramel “beach buns,” which are brought to your table when you’re seated.

6. Tusker House—Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tusker House is home to the only character dining at Animal Kingdom. During this safari-themed adventure, adventure-clad Donald Duck hosts friends Mickey and Goofy at an African marketplace. The breakfast buffet features traditional American favorites and African flavors like Safari bread, Zebra coffee cake, and Simba waffles.

5. ‘Ohana Best Friends Breakfast — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

This restaurant is all about family. Breakfast selections are served on huge family-style platters with Mickey waffles, bacon, ham and pineapple, eggs, and more. You’ll be visited by Lilo, Stitch, and friends like Mickey and Pluto. The Hawaiian-themed restaurant also offers beautiful views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom.

4. Hollywood & Vine— Hollywood Studios

Hollywood and Vine is the only place on Disney property where you can dine with Disney Junior characters. During the Disney Junior Play n’ Dine breakfast, your little one will enjoy visits from Disney Junior stars like Doc McStuffins, Roadster Racer Goofy, Fancy Nancy, and Vamprinia. The breakfast buffet is traditional American fare with omelet stations, Mickey waffles, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, pastries, and even a breakfast taco station. It’s a great way to start your day if you’re visiting Hollywood studios with preschoolers.

There is a separate character dining experience at Hollywood & Vine for lunch and dinner. The lunch and dinner buffet features interactions with Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Daisy with theming that changes every season.

3. Chef Mickey’s—Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Chef Mickey’s is one of the most popular and well-known character breakfasts at WDW. Located on the main floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this open-air feeling restaurant offers floor-to-ceiling views of Bay Lake, Seven Seas Lagoon, and the Magic Kingdom resort area. For an extra treat, you’ll see the monorail zoom above your head as you dine. You’ll greet the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto) in chef’s attire. This is another staple WDW breakfast buffet that features classic American breakfast dishes (and, of course, Mickey waffles). The Magic Kingdom is only a short monorail ride away, so this is a great dining location to enjoy before a day at the park. Plus, you’ll save time on character meet and greets once in the park since you already met them at breakfast!

Chef Mickey’s is also available for dinner reservations.

2. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall —EPCOT

Tucked into the Norway Pavilion, Akershus provides enchanted princess dining for breakfast and dinner. Akershus offers a suitable alternative to the princess dining available at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom and generally has more reservation availability. Princesses that may stop by include Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel. Breakfast options are much more kid-friendly than the traditional Norwegian feast available at lunch and dinner. The menu includes breakfast pastries, potato casseroles, bacon, sausage, and Norwegian-style waffles.

1. Topolino’s Terrace – Disney’s Riviera Resort

Breakfast á la Art is our favorite character breakfast at the parks! This character dining experience is also a favorite with many of our clients, which makes it our top pick. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy are dressed in stunning outfits that pay tribute to European artists like painters, poets, and dancers. The restaurant’s rooftop location offers impressive views of WDW property, and the prix fixe menu includes European-style pastries, quiches, and waffles. Reservations are limited for this dining experience, so contact your Wishing On A Star Travel® advisor if you’re interested in this dining location for your next Walt Disney World vacation!
